The basics:
📷 Add stuff — type a name in the quick-add bar, tap the 🎤 to say it, or Scan a barcode. Scantry fills in the details it can guess.
➖➕ Keep counts honest — tap − / + as you use things. Finished something? Hit Gone for one-tap "it's out."
🛒 The list builds itself — anything that runs low or out shows up on Shopping automatically. Check it off as you buy.
🍳 Cook — meal ideas from what you already have, plus a browsable recipe book.
🃏 Play — optional games, plus quick checks (Home Check, Fill in the blanks) that keep your counts up to date. Skip it entirely if you like.
🔄 Share with your household — turn on Sync below with the same passphrase on everyone's phone, and you all see the same list.

Scanned something and the name came up blank? Store brands often aren't in the free product databases. Type the name once and Scantry remembers it against that barcode forever — you'll never have to do it again.
Reading receipts, orders and recipes: a screenshot works better than a photo of paper, and good light helps a lot. Scantry always shows you what it read so you can untick anything odd before it's added.
Bringing a shop home: when matching your receipt against what you own, Scantry errs on the side of caution — it would rather add something as new than top up the wrong thing. The review screen labels each line, so a quick glance sorts it.
Cook it suggestions assume you've got the basics in (salt, oil, flour) and don't check whether you have enough of something for a full recipe. Treat them as "here's an idea", not a shopping calculation.
"~5d left" needs a little history first. Predictions come from watching how fast you actually get through something, so they stay quiet until you've used an item a few times. Same for the restock warnings.
Sharing a list: whoever saves last is what everyone sees. If two of you edit at the same moment, one change can be replaced — the Roll-back section below always has the earlier version if you need it.
Item photos sync across your devices when Sync is on (stored under your private sync key, same as your list). Receipts stay on the device that took them — they're bulky and rarely need to travel.
On iPhone, camera scanning and daily reminders only work properly once Scantry is added to the Home Screen and opened from that icon. That's an Apple rule rather than a Scantry one.
Browsers put a cap on how much a site can store, so export a backup now and then — especially before clearing browser data or moving to a new phone.
